Women Working with Clay: Ten Years of Telling the Story

Women Working With Clay: Ten Years of Telling the Story was originally scheduled to be on display in Richmond, VA during the 2020 NCECA Conference, then moving to the Eleanor D. Wilson Museum at Hollins University later in 2020. The exhibition has been rescheduled to be held at the Museum from April 8, 2021 through June 16, 2021.

The Women Working with Clay Symposium, founded in 2011 at Hollins University, marks its 10th year in 2020. This exhibition will include approximately 50 women artists who have been presenters at the WWWC Symposium. It will reflect the ideas of the symposium itself, which is to celebrate the stories, memories and accomplishments of women in the field of ceramics.

The exhibition is accompanied by a fully-illustrated catalogue with an essay by Mary Barringer; Symposium Director’s note by Donna Polseno; and foreword by Jenine Culligan, Director of the Eleanor D. Wilson Museum at Hollins University.
